I felt this would be a good one to draw out, especially considering how much most people like The Late Philip J Fry . I'd probably put it in with the ranks of my favourite episode Roswell That Ends Well , another time travel story. I chose a part that really stood out to me. Sure, it was one of those episodes with a sad emotional storyline for the most part, but it had some great comedy too, of course. A fun one to do for a lot of reasons. The whole interaction between the three; Fry, Bender and the Professor was just perfect. "My name's Hubert!", "I could eat...and fertilize" "We have to work together and not have this fight which I was definitely winning!"; the type of lines we've come to expect of the show. As for the drawing itself, as usual, I cleaned it up a little, seeing as a still image should look that way compared to something that is in motion. I probably mentioned that before somewhere. The trickiest part was probably the pattern on the front of the time machine, which seems simple to do in a quick drawing but is harder to do when lining it digitally because of the curves. The glass was troublesome at times due to all the layers I had to add in the right place. Everything else seemed to have went well though, even if the lines took forever in a day to do. I also got the impression that this episode would work quite well if it was lengthened to 90 minutes, it just had that feel to it. Anyway, surely I'll have more art based on this episode sometime soon.
this was truly a classic episode, and this is a classic scene...I like the line where the ladies invited them to their fertility ceremony. This was the pic I worked from for Planet of the Bureaucrats [link] .
Very nice.
